It seems as tho I may have used similar header before but it is a constant process and learn is what we need to do. I firmly believe that we don't live long enough to make all the mistakes and the rest of it goes that we are supposed to learn from others - the EDUCATION part! I try hard here to share that learning curve with you and I do get just enough feedback to know that some of y'all do take my diatribes to heart. It is not going to happen overnight - it isn't election day every night - thank the lord!

We go from know it alls to dumber than and then at some point - well heck that makes more sense. I have groused before that the census takers looking for the committee answer are not welcome here - still true. You should be suffering from turkey overload right now but that will not happen to a JCI customer. Tempting as it is at times for my cynical self who operates in parrot mode about what comes in the kit - despite my first question being "have you gotten my kit info" and then speiling: mounts - both engine rubber mounts and frame mounts - wiring - crossmember - driveshaft - shift linkage - radiator - speedo and gage hookups - accelerator linkage - hoses - cruise - ac and ps hoses - all crimped assemblies - clamps/bolts etc and the JCI conversion manual - tach calibration - frt paid to your door is what you'll hear on the phone. All of this was part of the FOR SALE support in the last issue. The only thing more I can do is to put the mechanic in the kit box to put a real pounce in your kitty.

JCI does believe strongly in the value of a V8 Jag but I certainly recognize it is not an option for everyone and in many cases I suggest that you get the good out of the stock driveline while you gather up your Chevrolet drivetrain for your JCI upgrade. The trans only upgrade "QuarterBreed" is a great way to enhance your cat one step at a time plus it will help the 4.2/V12 last longer and improve performance all from one package. When you loose a trans or head gasket that is a good sign to limit your $$$ involvement so as to not only get back where you started.

A great Greek has left us - My Uncle Pete Miller of Galveston has passed on and I can not say enough good things about him - a leader - no bull - a pillar - thanks for guidance and example for our lives, all who knew you are blessed.

These events have a way of bringing time into focus and I have too many projects and too much stuff so the tap on the shoulder brings new opportunities to you. I have a super straight - zero rust XJ6C that is sans motor that needs to move on - I bought it this way and ain't getting there - interior is in pieces - project car or perfect for your rust box $3k - 92 XJS convertible bad V12 triple black 9.5k, Buy either one before 1-1-07 and I'll include a JCI OSD deal as noted above. 1984 VDP w/JCI V8 conversion but paint weak - drive it anywhere 4.5K. Tire kickers - don't call - issues in life are: not enough hours to do what needs to be done much less what we want to do (play trains). That said I'll take a serious look for for interior components for your per 1980 XJ series car - I have to clear out my warehouse space and now is your chance - some of this has not seen light in 20 years. You'll have to give me 7-10 days to reply but it will be a serious look if you put your money where your mouth is and it'll be a good Christmas for both of us!! Email is likely the easiest way to pursue this help@johnscars.com and be sure to list the items in the SUBJECT line - thanks.

I might do some other early spring cleaning as I have to make room for railroad car parts - send me your XJ needs. Any plumber WDs? I have some 2" copper and brass nipples to move (American made). I am in the market for a Nelson stud gun if anyone wants to horse trade. Anyone in the PM business - need to visit about parts!

Christmas is indeed round the corner - another year has flitted by - yes they go faster and faster - sure didn't seem that way in school waiting for that 3pm bell! We give thanks for a good year - it can always be better of course because we are blessed to live in the nation where it is possible to see a greater future. Being the best always has jealous detractors attempting to disrupt and destroy our prosperity and convictions. Do the best you can and support our troops that are away from their homes. Pray that they will be blessed and get home soon. Reach out of your box - volunteer to help a non profit organization or retirement home - there are tremendous opportunities to gain great rewards for sharing your talents and just a little time with others that will be blessed by your commitment to make the USA and the world a better place, that is not the goal you need to look for - it happens automatically. Don't make it your new year resolution - do it now - the holiday season is the most needy time of the year and money is not the only key to happiness.

Merry Christmas to all and Happy New Year.

John
